DECEMBER 19th CHRISTMAS CLASSIC
CON WALKS IT
The last comp of the year and the Maestro confirmed his reputation as numero uno top dog with a splendid 4 shot victory. With pars on holes 2 and three, he grabbed the lead and was never caught. Alan, Geoff and Mike had a good tussle for second, Mike going well clear of the pack after three with a couple of pars. However, his usual troubles on holes four and six let the brothers Dyke through and Al nudged it by one.
As predicted, Tom took the Autumn Stableford two shots clear of Tony. The high handicappers showed some good form through the chilly months and have thrown down the gauntlet to the rest, who have only managed to match or beat handicap seven times between them!
Mike won an uninspiring low score contest, by virtue of his two birdies, although Con came closest to holing all nine. Once again, the sixth remained unconquered.
The highest standard of golf for 99 was maintained by El Presidente himself, who finished two shots clear of Alan.
