TONY'S APPOINTMENT WITH SAAB HANDS IT TO CON
With three holes to go Tony had hauled himself back to within one shot of the lead. However, a dash to the garage meant that his mythical five point awarded on the missing holes disqualified him from taking the tournament. Playing off 17 for the tournament Con notched up his second championship in a row.
 
In poor conditions, the boys stomped purposefully throught the mud, wind and rain to register one of the best scoring matches of the year. Between them, they notched up twenty pars and two birdies over the eighteen holes. The first nine holes saw four players beating their hadicaps and all but two dipped under the fifty mark. Perhaps the highlight of the day was Alan's putting. Time after time, he popped in crucial one putters from beyond the ten foot mark. His 42 was only matched by Con whose blob on the sixth prevented him from equalling his own record.
The second nine proved to be far more challenging and a heavy downpour as the boys teed off on the sixth resulted in one of the worst sets of scores for that hole. In fact, the average score on the sixth was nine! Only Con and Mike managed to dip under the half century for the back nine.
