One week away from the club championships and Alan moves into contention with a cool 18 points. One hole to go and he was sitting on a 36, but the curse of the ninth struck once again as he stumbled to a sorry nine.

With Con away polishing his swing on the sunny fairways of the West coast, other players moved into contention. Mike survived some disastrous chipping to gain 16 points, whilst Tony threw away his route map and blitzed a straight trail right down the middle of the faieway time and time again. Only a tendency to linger in the thick rough of the fourth kept him from hitting his 18 pointer. William Hill immediately cut his odds from 10:1 to 6:1. Geoff and Steve slipped back to 10:1, whilst Mike moved from 12:1 to 7:2. Dave moved from 9:2 to 6:1. The big money seems to be moving on to Alan who is now second favourite at 5:2. Word from Denver is that Con is maintaining his form and stands steady at 2:1 favourite.
