- THE AUTUMN STABLEFORD
- Geoff dreams of the day when he gets his PGA cert.
An excellent day with every player in the 30s and four within one stroke gross. However the star of the day was Geoff, who notched up a cool 38 points, giving Tom a drubbing in the process. Con had another shaky start and was struggling against Mike for the first half, but came back strong to win with a hole to spare. The best match of the day saw Alan and Tony share a one point lead throughout the game, until Tony sealed it with a nice par on the last. Tony and Tom looked to be battling it out in the matchplay, but Con has only lost one match and has plenty of games in hand, so it could all depend on how he fares against the leaders.
With around eleven games to go in the Stableford, Tom is streaking ahead, but there is a tight pack baying for his blood. Anything can happen, and it usually does, so plenty of excitement yet to come. The matchplay, however. could all be over soon, with Dave needing only three pars. If he can't get these in time, there are chances for the others to win on low score. A crucial week ahead, as we look towards the Superman Shield.
