WINS AS BROTHERS FIGHT TO THE DEATH
- Second-nine record for Alan, as he goes down fighting.

- How do you come back from the most miserable round of your
life? By shooting one under for your best seven holes and by
beating your brother on the last, as he smashes the second-nine
record for the course! That's the way that Geoff did it on Saturday,
where looked to be struggling yet again, with a first nine 53.
However, two pars and a birdie to open up the homeward nine and
his fortunes had changed. Only a soul-destroying five over par
on the unlucky thirteenth could spoil his round.Back-to-back
pars on 16 and 17 brought his score back to respectability and
into the lead against Alan.
- Curiously, nobody managed to break 50 on the outward nine.
Alan's birdie on 8 gave him the best score of 50, with Mike's
nine on 9 surrendering the lead with 51 - the same as Tony. Dave
and Geoff looked good for third place with 52 and 53. Mike held
his one hole advantage over Dave and the bruvs were level.

- Suddenly, things started to happen! Three pars on 10. Another
par for Geoff on 11 followed by birdie to take him two holes
up against Al's par. The thirteenth was a turning point, as Al
started to come back and Dave started to wilt. A visit to the
water and a missed put saw Dave off, as Mike's monster chip left
him with a simple pout to go 3 up. Geoff took advantage of his
stroke handicap to hold on. A par for Mike on 15 and his game
was won. Two pars from Alan and he was lookiing good for the
lead, but Geoff matched him and then bettered him to take the
lead into the final hole.

- A pair of bogies on the last and Geoff was half a point better
than their last encounter and a deserved winner. Al had the one
douoble bogie to blot his five par second half, but a great score
of 38!
