- CON TAKES OCTOBER MEDAL
- Con and Tony win their matches
- The closest day's play so far, in the Matchplay, with Con
and Geoff level at 12 and Dave and Tony level at 11. No great
play, although Geoff displayed great character to put in two
pars on the trot, just when things were looking badtwo down on
the tenth. However, four holes in a row showed that Con shows
no mercy when he's been cornered. A good win and also the best
net score of the day in the Medal.Geoff was the only person to
give him a run for his money, as he tied it at the 13th. However
Con went on to win with net 72 , a good seven shots clear. Mike
was third with net 80. The rest tied for 4th with net 82. Not
a great day for scores.
- In the other match, Tony's early two shot lead evapourated
as Dave parred three and Tony self-destruted with a par three
nine on four. From then on, it was nip and tuck as Tony pulled
ahead and Dave pulled back. It was Tony's great par on 13 that
eventually put him two clear and gave him the edge as Dave made
more attempts to pull him back a good five at the penultimate
hole gave him the match 2&1.
