CON TAKES THE CROWN!
CON TAKES THE CROWN!

A very good year for Con, who ended the year by taking home every trophy in the Fort Baxter cabinet. Apart from winning the league, half the majors, the averages trophy, three medals and demolishing the field in the Alan Dyke memorial, he produced some of the best rounds of the year. In March he produced a net 62 medal performance, one of two 82 shot finishes. Perhaps his best round was his 84 which took the News Of The World trophy. It included 8 pars and a birdie. His one blob was a massive 11 on the 12th. A bogie here would have given him a cool 78!
The season ended on a high note, with Dave recording the best finish in Fort Baxter history. A closing five holes in level par was a terrific sign off for an excellent year. Dave’s statistics reveal some good scoring golf marred only by the high blob rate. A little more consistency and he could regain the trophy next year.
Geoff has finished in the top three of every major bar one. Runner-up three times in the Eclectic, he has shown that he has the form to score on even the most difficult holes. He has also demonstrated his steely competitiveness in taking runner-up spot in the league.
Russ continues to be the most steady player of the group, as he leads the blobless table once again. With two medals under his belt, he has shown that it is only his taste for the high life which has kept him off the course for much of the season, that has held him back.
Tony was perhaps the most improved player. Using his driver more regularly this year, he has produced some scintillating golf. Highlight of his year was in equalling his own record of four birdies in one round. Apart from winning two medals, he also took the Eclectic back in the Spring, with one of the best scores ever.
Mike had a quiet year, but managed to rise to the occasion each time Baxter marked the passing of a murderous dictator.
Ruislip police were puzzled by the mass slaughter of those residents who were not on the golf course that day.
